DON THE GIANT KILLER

Recently the final of the Nedlands Challenge Cup match was played between defending champion Scott Van Heurck and Don Inglis.

This is the fourth year of the competition and as usual there was some “Giant Killing” performances from some players with high handicaps during the knockout rounds.

No more so than in the final when Don who was on 24 and Scott who was on 8 played on a fine sunny afternoon.

After nine holes Don was 6 up giving Scott very little room for error and to his credit he fought back but eventually lost 5 and 4.

On the way to the final Don knocked out two pennant players!! which is not unusual as this happens every year since the competition started so well done to him and commiserations to Scott.

For this year’s competition we are looking for 64 players and if you are interested in being part of this “Giant Killing” challenge please see Stewart Wharton or myself.
