Work has commenced on the two front bunkers on the third hole and until further notice both bunkers and some surrounding area will be defined as Ground Under Repair (GUR).

In addition to extra sand being added to the bunkers and improvements being made to the bunker pans, this work includes:

  • The front right bunker has had the lip on the fairway side lowered to improve player access to the bunker. New turf will be laid on the lip.

  • The front left bunker is being re-shaped to allow soil to be built up around the base of the green-side tuart tree with the area of rough between the tree, the bunker and the green expanded. The wall of the bunker was originally set well back from the tree and has eroded over time to expose the tree’s roots. This remediation work is essential to protect the tree which is estimated to be over 100 years old and is a native species.

Temporary Local Rules for the area affected by this work are now in effect until further notice:

GROUND UNDER REPAIR 3rd and 12th Holes

  1. BUNKERS – 3RD/12TH HOLES

The two Bunkers in the front of the 3rd/12th holes are deemed to be Ground Under Repair in the General Area. Relief MAY be taken-;

1a      as provided in Rule 16-1b

OR

1b     by Dropping a Ball in the Designated Dropping Zone.

  1. NEWLY FORMED SANDED/GRASSED AREA – -3RD/12TH HOLES

The newly formed Sanded/Grassed area adjacent to the left-hand bunker together with the disturbed ground associated with the works, are deemed to be Ground Under Repair in the General Area. Relief MAY be taken-;

2a      as provided in Rule 16-1b

OR

2b     by Dropping a Ball in the Designated Dropping Zone.
