Recently, the Premier established detailed requirements around “proof of vaccination” (POV) that come into effect from Monday, 31 January 2022. These rules include POV for all hospitality licensed venues, including restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, and clubs. You can see details below
The Committee has been actively considering how best to operate and considering the new announcement we have now formalised this policy to be effective from 31 January 2022.
The Issue
The primary issue is how best we provide a safe environment for members, their guests and our staff. Our staff are already required to be vaccinated, and we now have clear requirements in relation to evidencing POV for all members to access the licensed premises of the club.
Although community sports are specifically excluded from the requirements, the golf shop remains part of the licensed premises, and further complications arise in relation to how we may need to manage pins, rakes in bunkers, shared carts etc.
Accordingly, the Committee has decided (unanimously) to implement a policy limiting access to the clubhouse, course and all facilities to fully vaccinated members aged over 16 only (or those with an appropriate verifiable exemption) with effect from 31 January 2022.
Members under the age of 16 who have not been vaccinated will continue to be allowed on the course for the time being.
An appropriate exemption is in accordance with Federal Government requirements (a medical contraindication certificate).
What do I have to do now?
Our admin systems are currently being updated to record that we have evidenced your POV status. This will allow vaccinated members to continue to access the clubhouse, booking sheets, course and practice facilities. This data is only available to club staff to ensure they can continue to serve our members.
You will be required to provide your proof of vaccination certificates to the Clubhouse (Proshop@nedlandsgolfclub.com.au; gm@nedlandsgolfclub.com.au) or in-person prior to 31 January if you want to continue to access the club’s facilities.
