After rain, delays, postponements, reschedules and then this week bitterly cold conditions, the women’s and men’s Club Championships are into the final stages.
Women’s Championships
Tomorrow, Thursday 28th, we have the finals of all women’s divisions. The Championship final over 36 holes will be contested between #1 seed Cath Bellemore and #2 Karen Bond. This will start at 8.30am with the second 18 hole scheduled at 12.30pm.
The Minor Championship, comprising the players who lost in Round 1 and also played off the stick, will be contested between Anne-Marie McNaughton and Mady Sudlow-Brown.
The Division 1 plate final sees Marg Doyle playing Patricia Noske. Division 2 had #5 seed Jill Morgan playing Honor Metcalf who qualified at #3. Division 3 has Irene Tan continue her #1 seed form into a match against Carold Berzins.
All the finals follow Cath and Karen’s match off the 1st in the morning, and all supporters are welcome to come along to watch.





Men’s Championships
After the first weekend of Matchplay in the Men’s championships we approach the semi-finals on Saturday. The Club Championship has so far followed the qualifying script with no upsets, Edmond Hall playing Mark Matthews, and John Samuels against John McKay in the morning. Following those matches will be Gavin Parker v Peter Miller and John Ennis v Callum White.
In the A Grade Championship the #2, 3 & 4 seeds join #8 seed Damon Watkins in the semi’s.
B Grade demonstrates that anything can happen in matchplay, Joe Ricciadone (#2) plays Jeff Lane (#3) while in the top half of the draw we see Flynn Hanks (#9) face #12 Hary Alcock.
In C Grade Paul Jenkins (#8) knocked off top seed Craig Marshall while #2 seed Tony Cowan looms in the bottom half of the draw.
Men’s finals will be played on Sunday and you’ll be able to see the matches listed on the timesheet on the website.
