The 45th Nedlands Junior Masters was held over the Labour Day long weekend on 1st and 2nd March 2026, with a field of 72 of Western Australia’s leading junior golfers. The course was presented in excellent condition, and the Club acknowledges the efforts of the course staff under the direction of Brad Hebble for their work in preparing the course for the event.
Playing conditions were generally favourable across both days, although the firmness of the brand-new greens and surrounds provided a challenging test for competitors. The championship was contested in good spirit and featured a number of high‑quality performances.
The 2026 Boys Open Championship was won by Nate Johnson (JCC) with a total score of 146 with rounds of 71 and 75.
2026 Girls Open Champion was won by Katie Seol (CGC) with a total score 156 with rounds of 79 and 77. This was decided by playoff after Katie Seol and Sienna McCulloch finished even on 156 after 36 holes. Katie successfully defended her title with a birdie on the first playoff hole.
The event produced several notable highlights and was conducted smoothly throughout. A particular highlight being a Hole in One from Spencer Harrison, holing out with a 9 iron on the 12th. As this is one of the rebuilt greens, this is the first hole in one since opening only a week before.
Nalynn Kim (14th), Kloden Brown (2nd), Sopostar Fiu (6th) and Kortni Houston (4th) all recorded eagles over the weekend.
The Nedlands Junior Masters continues to be an important fixture on the junior golf calendar, and the Club congratulates all competitors. The Club also extends its thanks to officials, volunteers, and staff for their contribution to another successful championship.
MC Greg Fitzhardinge made particular mention of the parents who support the junior at all junior events, President Tony Morgan congratulated all players and hoped they derived great joy from the sport they participated in, be it golf or any other.
As is tradition, Golf WA was in attendance and represented by High Performance Manager Rick Kulacz. Following presentations Rick announced the players to represent Western Australia at the upcoming Australian Junior Amateur and Interstate Teams matches. Regarding the Junior Masters Rick mentioned:
“The Nedlands Junior Masters continues to showcase its rich history, with a long list of high-profile past winners. It was fantastic to see such a strong field of juniors competing in what proved to be a challenging test this year.
Worthy champions Nate Johnson and Katie Seol were crowned, both continuing to build impressive momentum with multiple strong finishes in recent months.
It was also terrific to see the clubhouse full for presentations, with families and supporters turning out to celebrate and support the players — a great reflection of the strength of our junior golf community.”
The Club would like to sincerely thank the generous sponsors who have supported the Nedlands Junior Masters.

Cedric Bell – Tournament Director / sponsor liaison
Marty Morris – Tournament Director
Greg Fitzhardinge – Match / Rules / Course setup and MC
Brady Morris – Tournament Director
Susie Rich – longtime Volunteer Coordinator
Key staff assistance from Karen and Jemma Wilson, the Proshop staff of Andy, George, Gavin and Kody, all the F&B staff across the weekend and of course the Grounds staff.
Across the weekend we had upwards of 50 members donate time as marshals, spotters, BBQ cooks and general duties, without your help the Junior Masters would not be the calibre it is. Thank you.
