Temporary Local Rules
Effective from 4th October 2025
Please be mindful that over the next four months, Temporary Local Rules associated with the Greens Renovation process will be reviewed where required. These will be published on the Website, on the Booking Reminder Email and displayed on the Club Noticeboard outside the pro shop and in the proshop.
1. ABNORMAL GROUND CONDITIONS (RULE 16.1b)
1.1 GREENS 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8– under construction
The area enclosed by a BROKEN WHITE LINE is Ground Under Repair and relief MUST be taken by dropping a ball in the designated Dropping Zone even though the Dropping Zone may be nearer the hole.
1.2 ALL YELLOW SANDED AREAS in the General Area are to be treated as Ground Under Repair and relief may be taken as provided in Rule 16.1b.
1.3 All works associated, with the TREE REMOVAL AND STUMP GRINDING (including tyre tracks) on holes 1/10, 5/1, 8/17 and 9/18 are to be treated as Ground Under Repair and relief may be taken as provided in Rule 16.1b.
2. PREFERRED LIES
When a player’s ball lies in a part of the General Area cut to fairway height or less the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball within one NGC scorecard length of its original position (the reference point), not nearer the hole than the reference point and in the General Area.
Notes-
- For a ball that does not come to rest on the spot it is originally placed see Rule 14.2e
- The Ball may be cleaned before the preferred lie is taken. Refer Rule 14-1c
