The final major mixed event of the year, the Dalkeith Cup was played in magnificent conditions with the big field of nearly 60 players enjoying Sunday hospitality in the clubhouse well before overnight showers arrived. In a tight combined stableford contest Don O’Brien & Honor Metcalf (pictured below on right with playing partners Joe Alexander & Sue Kelly) prevailed by a shot over defending champions Steve & Patricia Noske and by a further shot over the Chins, the Wehrs and Paul Baster & Cath Bellemore.
Everyone was pleased to see the large field size as mixed golf plays an important part in the fabric of Club life.
