News: 2015 NEDLANDS MASTERS – CLARKE AND WEATHER WIN!

Ex-professional and overnight leader Dale Clarke has joined the list of Nedlands Masters winners after numerous unsuccessful attempts to play a second round forced a declared result after yesterday’s 18 holes. Despite the morning field eventually completing their scheduled nine holes, afternoon players faced delays and interruptions.

Organisers were left with no alternative and Clarke was declared the winner at 4pm just after lightning was evident above the Clubhouse. Dean Alaban was leading professional, returning after an absence.

Both players spoke of their appreciation to tournament organisers once again directed by Greg Fitzhardinge and course superintendent Aaron Petrovski for producing an excellent event and course under prevailing conditions.

2015 NEDLANDS MASTERS

This popular tournament is being held Friday 15, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May. To make the event run smoothly we need helpers for spotting duties on Saturday and Sunday. Register with Ray Badnall who has once again agreed to take on the coordination of workers for the weekend. Many thanks Ray!

There are some spots available in Friday’s Pro-Am. The Pro-am represents an opportunity for members to support the Club’s contribution to golf in Western Australia. The Pro-am will be a team event with three amateurs being joined by a professional. There will be a morning and afternoon competition and the cost to play in this great event is $660 (inc. GST) or $220 per person. Make up a team with some of your golfing friends and join in this enjoyable day.

Professionals will play over 36 holes for $20,000 on Saturday and Sunday.

Brody Ninyette took advantage of excellent morning scoring conditions to fire a 9 under round of 63 as the Nedlands Masters got underway this morning. His score was five strokes better than any other morning player and it took until near dark to find likely challengers. Michael Foster sizzled around in 64 and Tom Bond 67 as they will strive to post a score tomorrow morning.

Spectators are welcome, entry is free. The morning round gets underway at 7.30 whilst afternoon players commence at 12.30.
