Overnight leader Bruce Graham (+4  -1  +3) held his nerve to see off the fast finishing Greg Polla and claim his first major, the 2017 APC Winter Cup in ideal golfing conditions. The winner thanked his playing partners and sponsor APC (Ian MacDonald) in a gracious victory speech.

Good scores came from George Gelavis (Melvista Cup winner), Tim Song (best Saturday) and Stewart Wharton (Millennium Cup winner) whilst last year’s winner Mark Miller easily won best gross.

Astonishing turnarounds were recorded by Ron Birmingham (-14  +2, best Sunday) and Paul Jenkins (-10  +2).

Former Sea View champion notched up his first Nedlands major with victory in the APC Winter Cup. Miller switched clubs late last year and has steadily adjusted his game to suit the course and recently has taken out a number of gross competition wins. Playing off 3, Miller was the only player to better his handicap over the two days finishing with +3 -2 for +1. Joe Alexander was runner up with -1 +1 for square, his highlight being a hole in one on the 12th with a 5 wood in his second round. Dave Hogg was also in the prizes finishing fifth with -2 -1 for -3, and a hole in one on 7th in his second round.

Past captain Bruce Allbrook produced two consistent rounds and was the only player to better his handicap each day (+2 +2  +4) on his way to a clear victory in the APC Winter Cup. Two birdies in each round including the difficult 5th/14th both days was enough to clinch a two stroke win over Reegan Cake (+2 0  +2) and Carrick Robinson (+5 -3  +2). Phil Johnson rocketed home (-5 +4) to claim best gross whilst Doug Cruickshank engineered a remarkable turnaround (-7 +3) to take best Sunday round. An enjoyable weekend was had by all including those dressed identically. Many thanks to sponsor APC courtesy member Ian MacDonald.
