TEMPORARY LOCAL RULES
Preferred Lies
A ball lying on any closely mown area through the green may be lifted, without penalty, cleaned and placed on or moved to a spot within one NGC scorecard length of its original position, not nearer the hole than where it originally lay that is not in a hazard and not on a putting green.
Notes-;
- A player may move or place his ball only once and it is in play when so placed or moved.
- If a ball when so placed or moved comes to rest on the spot to which it has been placed or moved and it subsequently moves, there is no penalty and the ball must be played as it lies, unless the provisions of any other rule apply
Embedded Ball – Rule 25-2
Through the green a ball that is embedded in its own pitch mark in the ground, other than sand, may be lifted, cleaned and dropped, without penalty as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green.
Washaways in Bunkers – Rule 25-1
Washaways in Bunkers are to be treated as Ground Under Repair and relief may be taken as provided in Rule 25-1b(ii).

GROUND UNDER REPAIR 3rd and 12th Holes
The area in front of and on the LEFT HAND SIDE of the 3rd /12th Green, the margins of which are enclosed by a White Line, is deemed to be GROUND UNDER REPAIR (GUR). The ball may be played as it lies or relief may be taken, without penalty, as follows-;
- As provided in Rule 25-1 (Abnormal Ground Conditions) Refer note below.
OR AS AN ADDITIONAL OPTION
- A player may drop a ball in the Dropping Zone nearest to where the ball lies, even though the Dropping Zone may be nearer the hole

RULE 25-1 (Extract) – Abnormal Ground Conditions
25-1a. Interference
Interference by an abnormal ground condition occurs when a ball lies in or touches the condition or when the condition interferes with the player’s stance or the area of his intended swing.
25-1(b) Relief
25-1b (i) Through the Green:
If the ball lies through the green, the player must lift the ball and drop it, without penalty, within one club-length of and not nearer the hole than the nearest point of relief. The nearest point of relief must not be in a hazard or on a putting green. When the ball is dropped within one club-length of the nearest point of relief, the ball must first strike a part of the course at a spot that avoids interference by the condition and is not in a hazard and not on a putting green.
