After a review of the By-Laws by the Committee of the Club and  in accordance with Section 29.7 of the Constitution it is proposed the current By-Laws be changed/altered and as required under Section 29.7(a) of the Constitution a copy of the proposed new By-Laws is posted on the Club Noticeboard and on the Website.

A summary of the principal changes is listed below-;

  1. The number of By-Laws has been reduced from 18 to 9 reducing the size of the document from 16 pages to 8.

  1. These changes have brought about a rearrangement and renumbering of the By-Laws – e.g. Interpretation has been brought to the commencement of the By-Laws as a preface rather than a By- Law.

  1. The Section dealing with Visitors has been renamed to Guests which is in accordance with the Constitution and Liquor Act.

  1. Many of the Sections in the By-Laws were -;

EITHER covered in the Constitution/By-Laws – e.g. Women’s Golf Sub Committee (contained in Constitution), Summer Season (defined elsewhere in By-Laws), Course Priority (Most of which is contained elsewhere in the By-Laws)

OR were deemed to be Operational matters rather than By-Laws – e.g. Employee Safety, General Conditions of Play, Competitions, Practice and care of the course, New Members, Dress Code, and Miscellaneous.

An additional Section (Section 8) has been added referring to a Club Manual including Operational Matters that Members and Guests must comply with.

  1. Definition of a Business Ladies Member has been included under Membership Playing Rights – Section 1.2.2.

  1. A clause has been added to Casual Membership and Country Membership whereby Members of each of these categories must obtain prior consent before playing on the course. Sections 1.7(a) i and ii. and Sections 1.7(c) iii. and iv.

  1. A clause has been added to Junior Membership defining when Juniors can use the course.

In accordance with Rule 29.7(b) any objection to the proposed alteration or change must be made in writing to the committee by not less than 20 Voting Members and within 21 days of this notice.

For and on behalf of the Committee.
