The annual Orphans of Burma Golf day was held on Friday the 6th March.

I am pleased to report that over 60 players took part in this very popular event on the Nedlands Golfing Calendar.

It was a two ball Ambrose competition over eighteen holes with men’s and mixed combinations.  As it happens every year there were some last minute withdrawals but this year there was a happy ending.

A Men doubles partnership of Bruce Allbrook and Gordon Holusa won the main event. It just so happens Gordon was contacted in the morning of the event as a replacement to play with Bruce and what a lethal combination they made as their score was 62 which was followed closely by the combination of Rhonda Moore and James Smith who had a 63 which in turn made them the mixed pair winners.

It was a truly successful day and I would like to thank all the players, sponsors, Melissa and John and staff of Nedlands golf club to make this day possible.

Next year will be the tenth anniversary and we will try to make it a big one to remember.
