As a consequence of the torrential rain last Friday the course has sustained major damage to many of our 37 bunkers. This damage ranges from water and debris inflow to severe erosion of the faces. In addition, a number of the bunkers have suffered collapsed sides and we have placed safety devices around them to warn players of the various hazards.

The Match Committee has decided that all bunkers are to be treated as GUR until we can make repairs and players are warned to be very cautious in retrieving balls as the sand surface is extremely slippery.

We are in the process of documenting and assessing the damage to ensure that we repair the bunkers to the highest standard. We envisage having a detailed plan of action next week and then set about the repairs. As a consequence, there will be extra machinery and contractors on the course during the next few weeks. Please be patient and give them consideration as they will be working close to the greens. On occasions some holes may be closed in order to carry out these repairs safely for both the staff and members.

Thank you for your consideration.
