Nedlands Golf Club remains open at this stage for Competition Golf and Social Play with Clubhouse operating as normal.  The Club will continue to follow and adhere to the advice from the Australian Government.

Playing Golf

The vast majority of golfers can and should continue to visit the club as per normal. Of course, golfers should exhibit a heightened awareness of personal hygiene as has been encouraged by state and federal health departments.

Some advice to minimise risk includes:

  • Washing hands with soap for 30 seconds prior to round and after the round
  • Only handle your own equipment
  • When handling the flagstick, bunker rakes, ball washers or any equipment on the golf course, consider using a glove or a towel. Remember the Rules of Golf, the flagstick can remain in.
  • Maintain social distancing of at least 1.5 meters
  • No hand shaking or embracing
  • Sanitise your hands at various location in the Clubhouse (Bar, Pro Shop, Reception)
  • No “dollar” bets

Clubhouse and Golf Operations

In addition, the Club will be implementing the following

  • Scorecards are to be placed in the box provided at the end of each round. The cards will be entered by the staff on duty so that members will not have to touch the computer screens
  • The Club recommends members use their House Account and credit cards “Tap as you go” facility as much as possible to avoid cash handling. We will allow members to utilise their House Accounts (not Loyalty Points) for competition fees until further notice.
