Following a successful 2020 application for a $12,500 Commonwealth Government Community Energy Efficiency grant and similar contribution from club members, our 17kW clubhouse solar power project was commissioned on 10 March 2021.
This new green power source will significantly reduce electricity drawn from the state’s power grid, reducing community greenhouse gas emissions and the club’s sizeable annual power bill.
It is anticipated that members’ contribution to this project will be recovered within 18 months, with ongoing savings over the 10+ years project life.
The club would like to thank member Ian Mumford for leading this environmentally and commercially attractive project through concept, fund raising and project delivery.
